Fifteen years ago, Evergreen launched the Native Plant Database as a tool to support their work
in urban greenspace stewardship and restoration across Canada.

Unfortunately, Evergreen was unable to dedicate the necessary resources to maintain the Database in good order. After much deliberation and an RFP process, Dougan & Associates was awarded the opportunity to become the custodian of the Native Plant Database.

The database will be relaunched under the new name Canplant and we envision the database will continue to reflect the core values and mission established by Evergreen. Canplant will continue to be an evolving resource that provides users with the most relevant scientific and traditional information on native (and introduced) plants in Canada and will once again provide a venue for individuals from across the county who have an interest in plants to connect.

It is our priority to make Canplant publicly accessible as soon as we can, check back soon!
